Better Business Bureau Stop Shoplifting Program

The Better Business Bureau Stop Shoplifting Program is currently offered throughout the 8 counties of Western New York. The program is for first time shoplifting offenders and is intended to reduce the occurrence of recidivism through education and self-evaluation. The program is available across all of Upstate NY, and classes are currently held on a regular basis in Western New York.

Individuals who are referred to the BBB's Stop Shoplifting School receive an adjournment contemplating dismissal (ACD) with the stipulation that they successfully complete the class and do not get arrested again for any reason during the 6 month period following the class.

Referrals are typically made through the courts, however counselors, probation officers, parents and merchants can refer individuals directly. The cost of the class is $75 per participant. Contact Ellen Tucker at 716-881-5222 ext.294 to register or for more information.
